Ice Fishing

My Mom and I spent the day ice fishing on Long Pond--something that neither of us has done for a very long time. Despite leaving our thermos of coffee in the truck, we had a great time and actually caught a lot of fish. We both managed to hook a couple of big pickerel and caught more yellow perch than we could count. It was a great day to spend outside and we are both looking forward to going again soon.

Nice! Are you eating those fish? Was it cold out there? Last time I went ice fishing in that lake, I broke through about 5 feet from shore and ended the day before it really started. I think I was 10.

Is that lake anywhere near the big blob of dough I read about in a Maine sewer the other day? :)

Just trying to show that I keep up with the important news in your area... sewer blobs, werewolves, etc.

Next time you go...please let me know, and if I can make it, I would love to go with you guys. I remember the days when we had the ice shack with a woodstove and sometimes even a TV. I remember racing Dad to the flag when a fish was on the hook. I also remember when cousin Betsy popped me on the head with the skimmer thingy and my head just about cracked open and Mom was scared to death. Good times :)
